“When I looked at life through the camera, I felt like I could finally see it.”  Katherine Howe, The Appearance of Annie Van Sinderen

AARON:

My names Aaron and for as long as I can remember film has been in my blood. I remember at four years of age I received the original Star Wars trilogy on VHS, through the years I became more and more of a film buff, I made short films through out my teenage years, had an interest in Acting so I went to college to study Performing Arts. After a long hiatus from education I’m back to learn the skills to become a film maker.

DANIELE:

Hi! I’m Daniele Robustino, since I was young I have a deep passion and dowry for visual arts. When I was 9 I started drawing, when I was 16 I started to have an interest in Photography. At the age of 19, I became a young professional photographer and now, at the age of 21 years old, I started my studying trip to become director and cinematographer.

JULIETTE:

For me, studying film making is following a dream I have had for a long time. Having studied Music, Fine Arts and some acting as well as living several years in 6 different countries I feel I have amassed some knowledge of human expression and storytelling. The roads I have travelled thus far, have been a ride often dictated by circumstance, survival and influences beyond my control. Being older and having created some stability for myself I feel like I can dive in and pursue this dream with my full heart and attention.

KORNELIUSZ:

I like experimenting and problem solving, I think this is why I find joy in arts of all shapes and forms, especially mediums that have some technicality, like using editing software, to them. I simply love using tools, software or anything that has buttons to make the things inside my mind share-able with other people! And so I’ve been creating, little, unorganised things since I can remember. Lately though I’ve had a thought, maybe I should create something bigger and cohesive?
I thought that that little thought was quite on point, so here I am!

Pettrus C. A. Vizioli:

I started working as a filmmaker in Brazil when I was 14 years old, and couldn’t think of any other profession since. I edited, directed, wrote, starred, produced, designed sets, costumes, sound, and was the Director of Photography on a number of different short-films and commercial ads, sometimes doing all of that by myself. Through my humble beginnings of being paid with car license plates (don’t even ask), I’ve managed to get myself in all sorts of trouble in the name of the craft, and I couldn’t do anything different. The struggle of it is the relief of my soul. You can only really capture the experience of an era by film. And I’m on the path of doing just that.

TAYJIB:

I always had a passion for storytelling and arts, such as drawing and photography. I started drawing and creating my own stories since I was a child and picked up photography later on. I developed an interest in film music and was enthusiastic about films and TV shows, but it wasn’t until a few years ago, when I realized how film brings all of my interests together and how fascinating the craft behind it is. That’s what led me to my journey as a filmmaker here at Aberystwyth University. Current favourite films include Seven Samurai and Blade Runner 2049.
